RE: PPT training materials, pdf output (with inter pdf/ppt project hyperlinks) --what is the best tool?

   Slidedecks in general are just landscape-oriented topics with one-click
   Next-Slide navigation and whatever else you build into it vis a vis
   animations, transitions, and the host of media options.

   If I had to do something like a web-site's navigation, presented as a
   slidedeck, with sometimes complex cross-linking, I'd just make a
   template in an editing environment that supports those needs and let
   them pretend to their heart's content that it's PowerPoint/ Slides,
   whatever. Given my own choice of tools, that would be a custom
   transform of DITA or other structured XML, using oXygen or similar, so
   I have all the editing, reuse, and formatting and navigation control in
   the world without trying to jam that content and functionality in a
   PPT(X) file.

   Just because these folks only have hammers and will see only nails
   doesn't mean you have to hand cut the nails from wire, sharpen one end,
   and weld on small dics on the other. TO strain a metaphor....
