You didn't say what type of mess was being printed. At one place,
I experienced printing problems with Word 2010 and even its own document
format, but only when printing on a Xerox Tectronix Phaser printer. The IT
department was hesitant to upgrade the printer driver, but that was due to
a different problem.
The problems we experienced:
* Garbled output after page 2
* Non-stop printing
* Pages with embedded PNG with alpha transparency printed blank
Does the file look correct in their copy of Word? Then have them
test saving to PDF and printing the PDF as a workaround.
If the file has on-screen issues then troubleshoot the compatibility
between your system and theirs as others have suggested.
