I highly recommend ASUS. I bought another brand first and had nothing but trouble. After I exchanged my trouble-prone laptop for the ASUS, it has been smooth sailing.

People who say 'Just buy any old hunk of junk' obviously have never had an ASUS system. :-p Hi Tony! haha. They take a lickin, and keep on tickin.
Anybody who is serious with their hardware starts with ASUS motherboard and then start planning the extras. The ASUS branded lappies are themselves pretty awesome, I have one of course. Not too pricey compared with other brands at all.
