Re: Do you use a "phablet" for writing and editing?

I am trying to migrate as much of my computing as possible to a tablet.
This definitely requires a keyboard. It also requires migrating Excel
spreadsheets to Google Docs or maybe Numbers. Advantages include the cloud.
Disadvantages include the loss of years (decades, ahem) of keyboard
shortcuts. I'm not even sure all my spreadsheets can be migrated. Do I
leave those on a headless PC that lives in the basement with my NAS, VOIP,
and other sundry networky thingamajigs? Is Teamviewer access to that PC
sufficient for that one really complicated spreadsheet?

What about ripping CDs and DVDs? I don't see a solution for that on a
tablet.

Also, I'm iPhone/iPad. How do I manage those devices "without" a PC?
(Getting a Mac doesn't solve the problem, silly, it just changes the OS.) I
have a moderate library that is NOT in the cloud.

Anyhow, I have been able to transfer all of my email, writing, project
notes, and other text-based work to a tablet. I really like the
portability, the cloud (which, yes, was available from the laptop, too, but
since I had a good backup in place, never seemed worth the effort to start
using).

Has anyone used an external monitor with a tablet/phablet/phone? That's
another question I'm still pondering ...
