Al's suggestion is working fairly well, without involving Acrobat Pro.

This is most likely the best solution in this environment, where the
company has never had a technical writer (and not sure what one does).
Ideally I'd like to wean them away from Publisher altogether, as what I'm
doing could have been done 100% in Word. Also, one of my tasks during my
tenure is to create a set of easy-to-use templates that blue-collar types
can understand.

Oh, and only the elite have access to Acrobat Pro, so dealing that wildcard
out is good.

Thanks all for playing!
