Thanks, Tony. I'm surprised there was a correlation between "select" and less user engagement. Keep us posted on what you discover for the reworded pages. That would be really good to know. Right now, I'm leaning toward using "select" as the best option.

On most of my web pages I used "select". I assumed, possibly incorrectly, that modern web users are accustomed to "select" using whatever interface or implement they preferred.

However, when we reviewed our web pages, we noticed there was little engagement on the pages where "select" was used. As an experiment we changed the text to read "click or tap". We'll have to watch for improved click through metrics.
