I just wanted to add the details of my approach. Whenever possible, we use title casing (even if it's not identical casing to the GUI).
If that's not an option, we use a character style (called CharGUI, alias CG). This style adds bolding and a 60% color to the text. The coloration is an alternative method to even out the text a little (rather than reducing the font size).
