I used Flare 6 through 7.1. PDF output had a lot of bugs (particularly
regarding tables), supposedly many of those were fixed in version 8.
Named destinations were not supported until version 8, which meant
that you couldn't link to a particular topic in a PDF from another PDF
or web page, which was a dealbreaker for that particular job.

I had no problems at all with bitmapped screen shots once I figured
out that I had to use a third-party image editor to set the dpi.
