Re: Communications, The Fine Art of Voice Mail and Email
"Hi Bill, this is Fred. Give me a call when you get this."
"Hi, gimme a call. Bye." (WHO WAS THAT? Is it someone I'm supposed to know?)
Or on a real, live phone call, not a voice-mail message, someone presumably asking for my wife's pony rides, "Hey, wassapry."
E-mail, again for pony rides: "I don't know if your to far away but I want to find out the cost to come here. Its for my daughter's birthday and she will be five but I don't know if we are going to have a bouncy house to and I don't know how many kids maybe 14 but maybe 16. So what is the cost?" (Okay, got that! You Don't Know. I don't either, because you never told me where you are.)
Most technical SMEs that I've dealt with have been quite good at finding and passing on info, if they happen to have it. I think you've just run into a bad batch.
