I can map the server as one of my network drives, and in Windows Explorer I can read and copy any of the stuff that I originally put there. I just can't write anything new, or delete anything. Would that even be possible if I was not authenticating to the domain?
Also, there's no change whether I connect via hostname (DNS) or via IP address, if that was in question...
