Whenever I get asked what I do, I tell them I'm both a writer and a
photographer. When the next question is "What do you write," my answer is "I
write installation, user and service manuals for the machines that make the
chips powering your computer, smart phones, and smog equipment." That's
usually enough to change the conversation to my photography.
