Word 2007 on Windows 7 64-bit.

I created a few drawings in Visio, to illustrate a whitepaper-ish document.
I de-cluttered the Visio workspace, used a capture program to grab the essentials, saved as .png and imported the file into Word.
When I sent the doc around for review as a PDF, I got negative comments about the appearance of the illustrations, which did need to be resized a bit to fit the document margins.

So I tried a different approach. I selected from the Visio drawings and copied, then in Word I did Paste Special and selected Enhanced Meta File.

This resulted in illustrations at the correct size that looked just dandy in Word.
I Saved As... PDF.
The PDF shows blank spaces where the illustrations should be.

I'll re-do using one of the other three Paste Special choices, but have other folks hit that specific glitch? Is it expected/expectable?
