Another oar in the water... My 64-bit Windows 7 shows thumbnail previews
for other file types, but not PDFs. I have Acrobat 9 Standard.

On my 32-bit Windows 7 system with Acrobat 8 Standard I see thumbnail
previews or PDFs in every view mode but Small Icons, List, and Details.
You don't?
