I LOVE Dell monitors, but their laptops arrive with too much bloatware
already installed that needs to be removed. In doing so for my stepfather
(his laptop), I had to call Dell tech support about some matter and, after a
lengthy period of time, came away from that experience thoroughly disgusted.
I love my HP Pavilion laptop, which I outfitted with all of the bells and
whistles (hardware-wise) a few years ago. It includes an HDMI port, so I've
been using it as a key component of my multimedia setup. I would not
hesitate to order another HP laptop again and—with my daughter's HP Pavilion
laptop—have had very pleasant exchanges with level 2 phone support (I most
often escalate as a rule, an exception being the excellent level 1 support I
received from Netgear this morning regarding a DSL modem installation
matter).
