I am working in .Dotx

I've tried opening as a template, or just a document, and can never get the custom colour to reappear in any of my menus.

Applying shading to styles only works if I do not use any spacing above and below my styles. As soon as there is spacing, I get white strips above and below the text.

You are saving the file as a .DOT, are you not?
