As Richard says, I find that you get out of it what you put into it, just like STC in general.

There are tips for attending conferences like this, including scanning the program beforehand to see what sessions you might want to attend, scoping out the facility layout ahead of time to figure the best path from Room A to Room B, sitting near the door if you are "iffy" about a session, bringing plenty of business cards, and generally keeping an open mind about trying new, out-of-your-knowledge/comfort-zone things.

Definitely, the networking opportunities are great. So is going out to dinner with people you haven't met before...or just collapsing into a chair near the coffee on the exhibits floor and starting up a conversation with someone. You can always get up and leave if you're bored.

Are you planning on attending? I'm skeptical, having been to too many
similar events (no STC summits) for which the "take home" was nominal in
relation to the hefty entrance fee. If you have attended past events, I'm
curious as to what REAL benefit you derived from attending, other than
simply getting off work.
