Re: converting EarthLink email (to EML or PST) ?

Monique,

First, I would avoid any conversion to Outlook's .pst format. That
stores email in a single, giant file that is somewhat less flexible
than alternatives that store the email messages as separate
files...and should the .pst become corrupted, you can lose everything
at once.

I noticed yesterday that the latest Outlook for the Mac has abandoned
the single giant file format, by the way--perhaps a foretaste of what
may come in the Windows versions.

Next--have you seen the "ABC Amber Earthlink Converter?" You can
download a fee trial version that will work for 5 emails at a time;
registering and paying a small fee (twenty bucks, I think) will give
you one without those limits.

According to their website, this tool will export to any number of
document or text formats--making the entire thing searchable using
desktop tools, and not requiring the limitations of email programs to
handle the whole thing.

Since these are old, archived messages, perhaps this would be sufficient?
