Nancy, it's a hunch without seeing the before-and-after MIF, but it
sounds as though you replaced something in the MIF that went beyond the
scope of what you set out to replace. I cannot envision anything
inherent in ReplaceText, which simply works with strings, that would do
some sort of rogue change to a font in a paragraph definition. I guess
the word to the wise for the future is to carefully scrutinize the MIF
file on the front end before committing to the change. Another
possibility is that an H1 style with a TNR font already existed in the
documents(s)before you began converting everything to H1 paragraphs.
Solutions for now?
1) Take advantage of the files you backed up using ReplaceText's back-up
feature to start work afresh with the originals...OR
2) Stick with your converted files. Define H1 paragraph style in one doc
to have the Arial font, apply to all H1s within the doc, then import the
corrected style to all other affected docs.
Perhaps others with more MIF background can lay out for us where the
pitfall may have been.

Subject: ReplaceText Deleted Fonts!
To anyone who uses ReplaceText, does it ever swap, or delete, fonts
unexpectedly?
I am using FrameMaker 7.1 on XP SP3.
I had a lengthy set of replacements, such as
Heading1 replaced by H1
Head1 replaced by H1
You see that I had two older tags replaced by one new tag, if it
matters.
All three tags, (H1, Heading1, and Head1) used Arial originally, but in
the mif file after I run ReplaceText, H1 now uses Times New Roman.
Any suggestions as to why this happened and how I can keep it from
happening gladly received.
