Rick, as I've already stated, guiding principle #1 of the STC certification program is that certification will not be required for membership, and membership will not be required for certification.



So it's NOT a goal, no.

If STC were to insist only folks that passed certification could qualify
for initially joining STC or as a condition of maintaining existing
membership (with periodic recertifications), wouldn't it "guarantee" a
stream of income for STC?

I'm not saying that's the goal here, but I'm sure I'm not alone in
having that thought cross my mind. After all, if you perceive you have a
declining membership and are seeking additional revenue streams it would
seem plausible. ;)
