What application are you using: Word, Framemaker, or something else? That
information would be very helpful.
It is the application that determines the fonts, unless you are working in
XML or HTML and are using a style sheet. :-)

system, I can't find any style definitions that call for it. But any time I
use something that requires the "default paragraph font" it defaults to

I don't have any huge objection to Verdana, its just not what I'm using.
Also, and this is why its such a huge issue, my hyperlink style keeps
defaulting to Verdana, and for some reason, it won't display as blue
underlined text if its Verdana. I've found that if I specifically format
each instance to the font it needs to be and then apply the blue and the
underline, I can get the display I want. But this is tedious and seems to me
to be a waste of time. I'm using cross references, and they are all
auto-magically styled as hyperlinks. When I display the font settings for
these links, they appear to be fine (blue, underlined), but they don't
appear that way.
It seems to me like Verdana is the problem, because when I set it to the
correct font (either Times New Roman or Arial, depending on where it
appears), it displays correctly.
At least I've got a work around for now. It would be nice to have a
permanent fix for future use though. Any ideas?
