In the RoboHelp 8 help topic "Add an image to a topic," it says, "You
can insert files with the following filename extensions: .gif, .jpeg,
.jpg, or .bmp."

I was quite surprised and disappointed to see that, since I much prefer
PNG for screenshots. (I recently got TCS 2 and have begun fiddling with
the FM->RH workflow in my spare time, but am nowhere near ready to take
the plunge.)

If your images are screenshots and they were unsharp, I'm guessing they
were originally JPEGs (good for photos, bad for stuff with text, sharp
edges, etc.) with compression set fairly high. Since apparently PNG
isn't an option, use GIF (if you can live with 256 colors) or BMP (if
you can live with huge graphics files). Or you might try dialing the
compression way down on a JPEG, but that would be my last choice.

Whoa! WebHelp and .chm are completely different output formats. You can
create either (or both, or others), but you'd better know which you're
supposed to be delivering. In the RH help, go to "Work with layout
types" to read up on the different output formats.

Briefly, .chm is Microsoft HTML Help, a format for Windows in which a
collection of HTML files (and supporting files) are compiled into a
single file that's installed locally and displayed by the MS help viewer
(using the IE browser). WebHelp consists of an uncompiled set of HTML
(and supporting) files that can be server-hosted and displayed by any
browser.

For information about how to distribute the various outputs, see the
help topic "Distribute the project output."

HTH!
