Coming late to the party (perhaps that's a good thing), but I thought I would point out that any
web site using Google Analytics is collecting this same information. True, you have to open a
browser to get there, but if the issue is the information collected -- an not having the ability to
opt out-- what MadCap is doing is not uncommon.
But that's been said already :)
Many, many businesses use Google Analytics or similar tracking software.
