It's really unlikely that my name, being made up of a non-traditionally
spelled first name and ridiculous surname, got generated through some
kind of a dictionary type attack. (I keep track, and there's only 2
people with my name on the 'net, the other one having married into it.)

The spammer would have been fairly advanced, too, since the spam
included my name in the body of the email -- not that hard, but still a
step above the "Dear User" spams I usually see. (Or, "Dear Usier.")

Additionally, no one else has reported the same scam at my company yet
-- I checked our phishing logs, and I seem to be the first complainer
about this particular one. (I didn't find it in a Google search, either,
which is odd.) So, I feel pretty sure that my address got picked up
directly and targeted. If not via TechWhirl, I can't even imagine how.

Nevertheless, keep an eye out.

Sincerely,
Madelyn Boudreaux
