First, I'm a trained broadcaster who has been on radio and TV. That was
another lifetime. Since then, I used my skillset to prepare voiceovers for
recorded GUI instruction, to be distributed on a large scale to seminar
attendees via CD.

Grammar and annunciation aside (already addressed to a degree in this
thread)\, what will you be using for the actual recording? If not a real
studio, you can rent a good quality mic, stand, mixer, etc., from an A/V
rental house. What software will you be using? On the PC side, Audacity is a
good choice. Where will you set up your makeshift studio? Room acoustics *
will* make a difference!

Now, what did you have to pay for the rental of all of that stuff? And how
about the prep time, including *rehearsal*? It will take multiple takes X
multiple recorded segments. Factor in *editing* using the software.

And you're going to charge client *how* much per hour?

I think I and the others in this thread have just provided all of the
justification you need to properly educate your client as to why the rate
will be whatever you're proposing.
