I once had an opening put on freeze *three times* before I was finally allowed
to complete the hiring process. The third time, it happened while HR was
drafting the offer letter. Each time the opening was unfrozen, we were required
to repost it both internally and externally even though I was going forward with
the same candidate. Amazingly, the candidate still wanted to work for me when we
finally got the go-ahead to complete the hire.
