TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
I work out of a basement home office with mountain music playing in the
background.... I used to work from a home office four miles north of
Fairbanks, AK....we had cable, except when the moose decided to scratch its
head on the power pole one cold January morning. Then we didn't have cable
for the rest of the winter. Dial up sucked, especially being a single parent
with two teenagers.

I am so envious. I would give my eye teeth to work from a mountain home!
