Milan, it has to do with menu picks.
Everyone, it quickly became apparent that the way out of the problem is
to rewrite it as "There are two ways to save test results." However, the
initial grammatical question interests me in its own right.
My editor's note was "needs a noun somewhere" I think the issue is the
use of
"how test results are saved"
as the direct object of
"controls"
I suspect that, as my editor suggests, it's better to have a noun as a
DO, rather than a clause introduced by an adverb. But I think it's
largely a stylistic issue and not strictly a grammatical one.
She has a laser eye, this editor!
By the way, someone once posted the address for a list for laser-eyed
editors. Can you send it to me? I think I need to improve my education.
