I was asked off-list to follow up. I haven't yet compiled a list of
all the suggestions, but I did settle on TiddlyWiki and have been
using it for about a week. I'm using it through Firefox Portable on an
8 GB thumb drive, and so far it's working well enough for what I want.
Small annoyances center around the user documentation, but those could
be just as much the fault of my unfamiliarity with how the
documentation is written as anything else. No show stoppers, and I'm
capturing everything I want to.

Thanks again to everyone who replied with suggestions last week.
