I think it would be more accurate to say that Word's
user options come default configured with settings
that are tailored for the casual user. I have definitely
found the default option settings unsuited to my needs
out of the box ever since Word 2000, but stop short of
saying "totally" unsuited because the settings are
user-configurable. It is, however, a major pain in the
you-know-where to have to run through ever tab turning
things off anytime I do a new Word install/reinstall.
