Some modes of thought follow the taxonomy given below (paraphrased from memory, so let the criticisms fly):

Data is binary bits that can be used to answer simple yes/no questions.

Information is created (developed) when data is organized into documents, tables, charts, graphs and so forth. Information can be used to answer more sophisticated questions.

Knowledge is created when information is assimilated by consumers. Knowledge is useful in formulating new questions and similar activity.

Some people then put Wisdom on top of Knowledge. Wisdom allows one to guide all the data, information and knowledge into the most desirable activities.

So, in this context, we are Information Developers because we create information when we create documents and other work products that organize data into something more useful.

I can understand how solutions might be developed, but not information.
Info can be stored, retrieved, gathered, enhanced, etc. But developed?
What am I missing here?
