I concur with Dan, Dori, and Gene. The Salary Survey was my reason for
joining for many years also. I am very disapointed that the salary survey
will not be available any longer. And, I refuse to pay extra for information
that I can get elsewhere for free.

I did send a comment to the STC main organization about why the data that is
available from teh government is neither accurate nor useful for the exact
reasons that Gene mentioned. All the job categories are lumped together and
it is very difficult to determine where a technical communicator with a
specific amount of experience and education fits into those categories.

Salary.com has the best data, which allows getting salary information based
on experience and education.
