RE: Re-upping STC membership?

My employer paid for my STC and ASQ memberships last year, and ASQ
renewal this year.

I will ask for STC renewal.  If they agree to pay for it I will re-up.
If left to my own wallet, I will not.

I'm very disappointed in STC at the HQ and local levels.  My opinion is
that we (STC members and officers) should be the leaders in our field
(technical communication).  I have seen some improvement this year, and
hope that I have contributed to that improvement.  I know that
leadership is not an easy job -- so I work on maintaining patience,
complaining to the right person, and offering suggestions and assistance
along with any complaints.

One of my biggest reasons for rejoining last year was to have access to
the salary survey, which they continued to offer as a member benefit.
For a year there was nothing but excuses.  Not the best way to raise
confidence.  Now there's an announcement that we can get access to the
survey but it's going to cost more money?  What's up with that????
