The joke was, we can't have knowledge if we don't exist. We can't prove
that we exist because all of our perceptions about existence are subjective
as evidenced by Descartes il cogito. ("I think, therefore I am.")
Therefore, we can't prove that we have knowledge and knowledge without proof
of knowledge is not knowledge. So there is no knowledge. This claim is
both valid and easily refuted, that's why it's funny.
