Hi Ned,

Never used Lightscribe; although, my CD-Burner is capable. However, my ink
doesn't run if it gets wet. I use an Epson R1800 and the ink is archival
(150 years on Epson Premium paper) and waterproof when dried (and it dries
really fast). I've actually taken CDs and prints and soaked them in water
for several hours to verify this. (I don't recommend doing this on stuff you
want to save.)

Older ink jet printers used water soluble ink. I don't think the cheaper
newer models use that old technology.
