It wasn't just the STC. At the first company I managed publications
for (early 90's), none of the writers wanted to work on the corporate
website even though upper management and the marketing group
*asked* Tech Pubs to help them out with it. They just didn't take
this "web fad" seriously. I ended up doing most of it myself because
lack of interest resulted in nobody else in the group taking the time to
research what needed to be done to produce usable online content.
