This is why we must grow and define our role.
Technical writing itself implies a contractor who
arrives after the product is done and writes a cursory
manual at two pages a day. Technical communications
implies something broader than that. But if we want to
compete in a future where information is cheap, I
think we need to become champions of user-computer
interface over the life of the product.
