Maybe "mature" isn't quite the right phrase, but the changes brought about
by the internet certainly seem to be levelling out a little, at least in the
software development world.

The way that information is viewed, by the rest of the world, has changed,
it is now a VERY important and expensive commodity, the lines are blurring,
and Google has a lot to answer for!!

Technical writing dates back at least as far as Vitruvius' "De
Architectura." How is it starting to mature only now?
