I haven't been forced to use McAfee for maybe three or years. All my
past experience with it, however, has come away with me feeling it's a
resource hog. Norton, unfortunately, seems to have trended down that
path some, too. Apart from that, both are good products.

At home, I've used AVG for anti-virus, Zone Alarm for a firewall, and
Spybot and Windows Defender for spyware -- free tools all. They've kept
me safe and free to work and play for the past two years.

I use McAfee. I get it free from my cable internet provider.
