<I just found an error in one of the manuals I work on and I feel sick.
Fortunately, the error does not pose the user any danger but it looks bad.
What do you all do when this happens? I'm having a bad case of the "I'm
not perfect" blues.>
Nobody is perfect. Heck, I still sink up to my ankles when I walk on water.
I remember putting out the first issue of Mushing magazine, in Ester, AK. A
group of us went through the text several times. All of us had Journalism
degrees and all of us had an extensive list of published material. It was
our first issue and we wanted it to be perfect. The other day I was
reorganizing my office and had an opportunity to go through that first issue
again. All I can say is our first issue wasn't perfect, but it was good
enough to keep the magazine going. I'm no longer with it, but it is now
distributed internationally and is considered THE voice in this unique
winter sport (dog mushing and skijoring).
Moral of the story...strive for perfection, but accept that we are still
mortal.
