I'd call that question a confused recursion because
users of other tools do not specialize in writing
about tools. However, I would prefer the word of an
enlightened developer over mine when it came to how
changes would be made to the application, if you want
a parallel case. I would show that enlightened
developer what I needed to do, and the desired end
result, but let them figure out the implementation as
their knowledge is greater than mine in that regard.

Your comment on the quality of documentation of
technical writing tools is a lively gem. I've felt the
same thing, especially with some help system authoring
tool documentation that shall not be mentioned.
