Diane Evans observed:

"I print out the document for reference, then copy the entire document,
then paste it into Notepad. This strips all of the formatting from the
document. (If your document is large, you may only be able to convert
part of it at a time). "

Why, when there are so *many* free editors without the limitations of
Notepad, do you not use one of them?

For example, Notetab Light: http://www.notetab.com/ntl.php
Notepad ++: http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/site.htm
Crimson Editor: http://www.crimsoneditor.com/

Anyway, you get the picture. It simply should not be the cause of "...you
may only be able to convert part of it at a time."

Many of these also offer tabbed editing of multiple documents, so you could
if you wish load each version of SME edits in a separate tab to compare and
combine results.
