  Microsoft. They had DOS don't forget. Then they started handing out "Works" for free. Got folks hooked and moved them to Word.
   
  Yes, the early days of the Net, BBS's and Fidonet. Walking into the BMUG office (Berkeley Macintosh User Group) was like taking a journey into the 60's.
