Or, alternatively, your carefully redacted, locked-PDF samples
*always* live in a password-protected directory on your web site, but
the login names and passwords that you give to reviewers are (a)
unique and (b) expire quickly, and you include a statement on your
portfolio site that all examples have had proprietary material removed
and are used with permission.

Have done it that way for a few years now. It works well. Added
bonus: if you assign unique logins to each potential reviewer, you
know, by examining your site logs, who has looked at what, and when.
