What is your view on using Tables to control text layout in the browser?
Is there a better alternative to using tables?
It all depends on the content you are trying to control and how well you
understand Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). I used tables and Dreamweaver
exclusively for layout control, until I discovered "CSS: The Missing
Manual," by David McFarland. Now, in my spar time, I'm redesigning my
websites based on CSS. The reason is more control over design and less code
(which means faster page loads).
Then again, if all you're worried about is text, then tables are a good and
quick solution.
