I have a question about tables in FrameMaker. Here is a hypothetical
example:
I have text in FrameMaker like the following example:
DOG
Animal that barks.
CAT
Animal that meows.
HORSE
Animal that neighs.
This text is currently not in a table; it's just laid out as you see
above.
I want to create a two-column table for this text. The left column will
contain the category of animal (DOG, HORSE, CAT). The right column will
contain the corresponding description of each animal ("Animal that
barks, etc.")
Now, I could manually create a new table with two columns, three rows,
and the appropriate headings. I could then cut/paste the appropriate
text into each cell.
Here is my question: Any way I can automate the table creation process?
In other words, any way I can highlight the text, then somehow create a
table with the correct number of rows/columns AND the appropriate text
in each cell?
I have to create dozens of such tables. That's why I ask!
Thanks in advance!
Keith
