TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
I'm a newbie to the list. I have a bachelor's degree in Linguistics and I
would like to prepare myself "officially" for the field of Technical
Writing/Communications. I say "officially" because I've been unofficially
doing that function part-time at my existing job and would like to add
credentials now. I understand that Malaspina has an online certificate, but
I'm also looking at those in Simon Fraser University, Humber College, and
Online Learning. I am currently staying at home and want to do it online.
Has anyone done any of these courses or can you recommend these ones or
others? I live in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada.
