Your Out-of-office Assistant may be configured in
various ways that are out of your control, or it may
just not work the way you expect. Consider not using it
at all. It apparently is unable to let you key on
precise text in the headers of incoming messages,
perhaps because it "knows" what is best for you.

Google for "using out of office assistant" and you'll
hear a sympathetic but not necessarily helpful chorus.

Maybe you should try receiving techwr-l through
your personal e-mail instead of at work.
