The really cool thing about Gantt charts is watching a consultant revise
one during a management review. Didn't meet your goal? No problem: Just
shift, double-click, and poof! You've moved the goalposts. Hey, you're
gonna meet that goal after all!

You jest, yes? I'm not allowed to do this, and I wouldn't let consultants
get away with it either.

Milestones and goalposts can move, to be sure -- but every move and the
reason(s) for it must be properly documented in the revision history because
our Gantt charts are controlled documents.

They are the most-revised documents in the entire collection, but it was a
good move to decide to control them. It's keeping everybody more aware that
they exist -- and much more honest about abusing them!
