Develop a document project plan format that specifies
milestone and release dates, content scope, responsibilities,
assumptions and dependencies, etc.
Require this plan to be developed, reviewed and approved by Technical Publications and the product/project owner/s before work on the document/s can begin.

Require periodic revisions of the plan as conditions change.
Do not allow the project to grow or its milestones to slip
without having these revisions to the plan signed off by the original approvers.

Post mortem each project after completion to verify that the project as finally released conforms to the project plan
or identify areas of nonconformance.

Record for use in writer review.
