FrameMaker problem: Spaces in multi-line index entries
Subject:FrameMaker problem: Spaces in multi-line index entries From:Greg Becker <gbstrat -at- yahoo -dot- com> To:techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com Date:Fri, 8 Dec 2006 12:42:27 -0800 (PST)
I?m new to the list, so I might have missed something,
but I think I?ve done a fairly thorough search through
the archives before posting this.... if I?m asking a
question that?s been answered previously, please forgive
me!
The generated entries in my FrameMaker index look fine
and are formatted properly, except for entries that
require more than one line. The problem there is that
spaces between words in the FIRST line of a multi-line
entry are much too wide..... that is, there is only a
single space character between each word, but each space
character is much wider than normal (equivalent to the
width of perhaps three or four normal spaces in some
instances). This is true ONLY for the first line in a
multi-line entry; the spaces in the second line appear
normal.
My FrameMaker version is 7.2. I?ve played with any and
all settings in the paragraph format definition that seem
as if they might possibly have an affect on this
situation, but with no success. This improper spacing
shows up on screen and in output sent both to a printer
and to .pdf.
Has anyone else encountered this situation, and if you
have, do you know of a solution?
Thanks,
Greg Becker
